The Reincarnated Dog

A young woman accidently gets crushed to death and is reincarnated as a poodle.

One sunny afternoon, a young woman with a hoodie is taking a walk while snapping her fingers to a song she’s listening to with headphones in her ears. She presses the button to safely crosswalk but suddenly a red car up the street is speeding 100 mph.

“Ah crap! I’m so fired for waking up late for work!” The person driving said with sweat on his face and foot pressing on the gas pedal intensely. He sees the young lady waking on the crosswalk and slams on the brakes, but that made the force of the car start to flip over. The young lady finally noticed was was happening but it was too late. The flipped, uncontrollable car crushed her body, killing her.

The young woman wakes up and sees fields of clouds all around her.

“Where am I? What is this place?’’

“You’re in heaven, my dear.” an angel answered her questions.

“Wait a minute, I can’t be dead yet! I had so much to do in my mortal life!”

“Is there someway to return me back to earth?’’

“Well we are trying out a new thing called reincarnation and it’ll allow people who died too early in their lives to come back as a talking animal.”

“Well, I’ve always wondered how living as a dog would be like. I wanna be a poodle!”

The angel grants her wish and sends her back to earth as a talking poodle. When the young woman returns back to earth as a poodle, the first thing she decides to do is to try finding her parents’ house so that they’ll know she hasn’t kicked the bucket.

Unfortunately, a dog catcher was patrolling the area where she was and noticed her. He captures her and takes her to the pound.

“This is a misunderstanding! I’m a human reincarnated into a poodle!” she yelled in the back of the car.

“I gotta lay off this coffee.” he said while thinking he’s losing his mind.

Meanwhile, the young woman’s dad is driving the mom to the pound to help her cope with the death of their daughter. They look around the pound to see what kind of pet they’d both want. The daughter notices them and rattles the cage loudly to get their attention.

“Mom, Dad its me!”

“Did that dog just start talking to us?” the dad asked the mom.

“And why does it sound like our daughter, Jennifer?”

“If you are our daughter, what’s her favorite hobby?”

The poodle answered that her favorite hobby is composing music.

“It really is you Jennifer! We both thought you’ve died!”

“How’d you get into a poodle’s body?”

“I was reincarnated into a poodle! Now you can adopt me as a pet!”

“This is so weird talking to our daughter as a poodle.”

Her parents tell a worker they’ll take the poodle and they head in the car for home. The young woman/poodle falls asleep in the back.

“Welcome back.” both of her parents said while she’s asleep.
